CONSULTATIONS

I offer private one-on-one consultations tailored to your needs. Whether you have a first cut, an idea, a treatment, a screenplay for either a short or a feature, whether you want to discuss your approach to pre-visualization, whether you are a working practitioner with years of experience looking for fresh perspectives, or you are venturing out at the beginning of your filmmaking and searching for the most productive initial steps to take in your new craft, I can offer you the fruits of over 40 years of experience both in professional film and TV and in teaching and mentoring at graduate level in filmmaking education. 

I don't deal with the structures of production (although I am well-versed in this area), nor the hardware and software of movie manufacture, nor do I look at the business, marketing, distribution. The creative process does not lie in those areas. 

But if you want to explore and understand story in all its aspects, storytelling in all its possibilities, the language of the moving image, and how you connect to your audience, and if you want someone sensitive to your voice and your search for it, I can be of help. I never tell you what kind of film to make. I don't dictate your tastes or sensibilities. I don't want you to be me, I want you to be you. So I help you find the film you want to make and I support you on the path to making that film work, for you, for your audience, and as a movie in itself, something true to your intentions and its own life. 

If you don't have a specific project in mind I can discuss with you your path, the projects you are considering, your approach to and grasp of filmmaking craft, and your daily practice as an aspiring filmmaker.

My rates vary according to your financial resources, ranging from beginner level through to the experienced client whose features, whether in development, production, or post production are financed.
